Estrella News online - Television live
Estrella News Live Stream
Estrella News is the Spanish-language news service of Estrella TV, the American broadcast network aimed at Hispanic and Latino audiences. The network is owned by MediaCo, co-owned by HPS Investment Partners and Standard General, and its programming, production and advertising operations are headquartered in the Los Angeles suburb of Burbank.
The Network
Estrella TV's history reaches back to 1998, when Liberman Broadcasting, owner of Spanish-language radio stations in several large markets, moved into television by buying KRCA channel 62 in Los Angeles. The company was founded by the Mexican-born media executive José Liberman and his son Lenard, and the network grew from those radio and television holdings into a national service.
Its output is unusual among American Spanish-language networks in that the vast majority of programmes are produced in-house rather than imported. The mix covers entertainment series, reality and drama, news, sport and Mexican feature films. MediaCo chief executive Peter Markham has overseen operations since the corporate reorganisation of October 2019.
News Output
The news service covers the stories that matter to Hispanic communities in the United States: immigration and consular affairs, employment and wages, health and education, crime and the courts, and events in Mexico and Central America that affect families on both sides of the border.
Bulletins run through the day, with live coverage of major events and reporting from cities with large Latino populations.
Access
Estrella News is distributed as a free ad-supported streaming channel through the Amagi platform, with Spanish closed captions, and it is carried by the network's over-the-air affiliates and by cable and satellite providers.
