ABC News Live Live Stream

ABC News Live is a United States streaming video news channel operated by ABC News since 2018. It carries breaking news, live events, regular newscasts and longer-form reports and documentaries, and it runs continuously rather than as a schedule of separate programmes.

Distribution

The channel is available across a wide range of streaming services, among them Hulu, Disney+, YouTube TV and YouTube, DirecTV Stream, Sling TV, Pluto TV, Xumo, Tubi, FuboTV, Haystack News, The Roku Channel and Samsung TV Plus, as well as the news division's own website and applications. Centaur Communications provides the channel to audiences in Belize.

Origins

ABC News Live continues a line of experiments that began with a short online programme hosted by Sam Donaldson in 1999 and with ABC News Now, launched in March 2003 as a fee-based service available to subscribers of America Online and Comcast, and later through mobile providers. That service covered the 2004 party conventions in depth, offered half-hourly headlines and mixed news with entertainment and lifestyle programming.

ABC News Now ended its run on the subchannels of affiliate stations in January 2005, was relaunched as a broadband and cable service that spring, and was taken to international markets from 2007. The present streaming channel is the successor to those efforts.

Editorial Character

Output is anchored from ABC News studios in New York and Washington, with correspondents joining from the field. The channel covers politics, elections, courts, business, weather emergencies and international events, and switches to continuous coverage when a major story breaks.
