Syria TV, تلفزيون سوريا, is an Arabic-language Syrian news channel owned and operated by the Qatari Fadaat Media network. It was launched in March 2018 in Istanbul, where its headquarters remain, as a service aligned with the Syrian opposition during the revolution.

Editorial Aims

The station states that its purpose is to bridge the spaces and gaps between members of the Syrian nation, and its programmes try to reflect the conditions Syrians encounter both inside the country and in exile. Coverage spans society, politics, entertainment and culture rather than news alone.

Its output is funded, according to the channel's profile, by Syrian and Arab businessmen, and Hamza al-Mustafa is chief executive.

Reunion and the political discussion

Reunion is a two-hour daily window on the major issues facing Syrians at home and abroad, built around the lives of families and presented by Ayham Nabei, Yara Edriss, Abed Molhem, Assiya Hisham and Noor Abdulrahman.

Around it the schedule carries political discussion, social reporting, economic analysis and cultural programming, with talk shows that bring guests from across the Syrian spectrum into the studio.

Distribution

Syria TV broadcasts by satellite across the Middle East and streams continuously through its website, where a live page and a full DVR feed are available. Its site publishes rolling news in Arabic, and the channel distributes video through its social accounts.
