Novorossiya TV Live Stream

Novorossiya TV, Новороссия ТВ, is a Russian-language television service that began operating in 2014 under the supervision of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. It was one of the channels created in eastern Ukraine during that period and drew its material from the region's news agenda.

Editorial Character

The channel's output was built around news and current affairs from Donetsk and the surrounding area, together with studio discussion, social reporting and cultural programmes. Its editorial line reflected the authorities that supervised it, and the service became one of the recognised outlets of the self-proclaimed republic.

Ukraine banned the channel on account of what the authorities described as a pro-Russian bias, and it does not appear in Ukrainian licensed broadcasters' lists.

Archive and Distribution

The channel's own video archive is held on YouTube, where the Новороссия ТВ account carries editions and reports, among them coverage of supermarkets opening in the republic and long discussions on history and ideology. The most recent uploads date from 2020.

Beyond satellite and cable distribution in the region, the channel's material is relayed through internet feeds, which carry the broadcast in a continuous stream. These relays are maintained by third parties rather than by a single broadcaster, and the feed is listed in international catalogues of Russian-language channels.

Record

The channel remains part of the record of media created in the Donbas after 2014, and its programmes are used as source material for the study of that period.
