MNN NYXT Channel Live Stream

NYXT is the cable and digital channel of Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN), the non-profit public-access operator serving Manhattan, New York. Launched online and on air in 2016, it spotlights the work of more than sixty community-based organizations that connect people and build neighborhoods across the borough, and its signal streams live online.

A Community Media Powerhouse

MNN, founded in 1992 as the successor of Channel J, is considered the largest community media center in the United States. It reaches some 500,000 cable subscribers in Manhattan through five public-access channels - MNN1 Community, MNN2 Lifestyle, MNN3 Spirit, MNN4 Culture and MNN5 HD - airing more than 10,000 hours of original local programming each year in over forty languages. Its production hubs are the El Barrio Firehouse Community Media Center in East Harlem and the modern MNN on 38th facility near Hudson Yards, which also houses the NYC Center for Media Education training community producers. Funding comes from community benefit agreements tied to the cable franchises of operators including Charter, Verizon and RCN.

Programming with Purpose

NYXT's schedule is built around New York's non-profit world: stories from community organizations, local arts and culture, neighborhood initiatives and civic life, produced in partnership with groups working across the five boroughs. The channel carries Manhattan stories told by the people who live them - a mission rooted in MNN's tradition of community programming that has documented the issues shaping the city, from local elections and labor organizing to immigrants' rights and community gardens.
