Television Reduta began regular broadcasting on 16 October 1994. On 1 October 2001, the television was transformed into the commercial company BIC Spišská Nová Ves, s.r.o.
On 16 November 2001, BIC Spišská Nová Ves, s.r.o. with the programme service TV Reduta was granted its own broadcasting licence by the Slovak Broadcasting and Retransmission Council. On 9 July 2003, TV Reduta also started broadcasting terrestrially from its own transmitter - analogue on UHF channel 26. In 2012, since 1 June, it has been broadcasting digitally on channel 32 on the basis of the TD/140 licence. Broadcasting is continuous 24 hours. The main content of the broadcast is news from social, cultural and sports events in the town of Spišská Nová Ves and the nearby region. The television signal covers the town of Spišská Nová Ves, the village of Smižany and adjacent villages. In 2016, Reduta Television extended its broadcasts also from the transmitter in Levoca on channel 31. The signal is also distributed by RUPPKI. The programme is also offered through the broadcasters UPC Slovensko and Magio in digital form. Televízia Reduta is a member of LOTOS - the Association of Local Television Stations of Slovakia.
