CVR English is the English-language news channel of the CVR media group, broadcasting from Hyderabad. It addresses viewers who follow Indian affairs in English, combining national headlines with regional reporting from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, politics, business and current affairs.

A newsroom built on investigative reporting

The CVR group describes itself as a pure-play news broadcaster: its channels carry news and current affairs only, with no entertainment or time-pass programming in the schedule. A declared editorial mission of the newsroom is investigative journalism — exposing the misuse of public funds and holding political and bureaucratic figures to account regardless of their position.

The group behind the channel is Image Hospitals, a Hyderabad-based corporate healthcare institution with decades of experience. Alongside CVR English, the broadcaster operates the Telugu-language CVR News, which went on air on 20 September 2012, and the health-focused CVR Health channel.

English coverage of the Telugu-speaking states

Within the network, CVR English carries the group's journalism to an English-speaking audience, covering the political and economic life of Hyderabad and the two Telugu-speaking states it anchors — Telangana, where the city serves as the state capital, and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh — together with national stories from across India.
