DD Urdu Live Stream

DD Urdu is the Urdu-language infotainment channel in India’s Doordarshan network, operated by public broadcaster Prasar Bharati. Launched on 15 August 2006, it was created to promote Urdu language and culture.

Current affairs and public issues

Yeh Hai India (Ye Hai India; “This Is India”) covers Indian social, economic and development issues. Apna Mulk Apna Aaeen (Apna Mulk Apna Aain; “Our Country, Our Constitution”) discusses law, human rights and legal awareness. The channel also presents career guidance through Rozgar Se Kamyabi Tak (“From Employment to Success”), aimed at young people exploring work and training options.

Literature, interviews and poetry

Urdu writing and performance are central to the schedule. Guftgoo (“Conversation”) features interviews with notable guests, while Duniya Mere Aage (“The World Before Me”) addresses international affairs. Mushaira (poetry symposium) and ghazal programmes showcase Urdu poets and verse. DD Urdu also produces documentaries on Urdu literature, poets and poetry, alongside film and cultural features.

Public service and special broadcasts

Alongside studio programmes, DD Urdu covers national occasions and festivals, and carries stories on education, careers, women’s lives and social wellbeing. Prasar Bharati’s channel page lists popular programmes and selected episodes, while the network’s current schedule provides broadcast details.
