KTRK - the Public Broadcasting Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic - is Kyrgyzstan's national broadcaster and the country's largest media corporation, with a broadcasting history of more than 80 years.

From State Channel to Public Broadcaster

After the April 2010 events in Kyrgyzstan, one of the interim government's first decrees transformed the country's largest channel from a state outlet into a public broadcaster, creating the Public Supervisory Board and adopting an editorial policy built on impartiality - a status oriented to serving society rather than the authorities.

A Family of Channels and Radio

The corporation unites the channels Birinchi Kanal (National First Channel), Muzyka, KTRK Sport and Ala-Too 24, alongside the radio stations Birinchi Radio, Kyrgyz Radiosu and Min Kiyal FM, the Republican Radio and Television Centre and the Kirgiztelefilm studio. The morning programme Zamana opens the broadcast day.

Coverage

KTRK owns the country's largest signal distribution network, covering more than 98% of the population, and also broadcasts on the Intelsat 904 satellite and online. Programmes air in Kyrgyz and Russian.
