Oman TV General Live Stream

Oman TV began broadcasting from Muscat on 17 November 1974; its Salalah station followed in 1975. In 1979, the two stations were linked as a single national channel, and round-the-clock broadcasting began in 1998. Today, the General Channel is part of Oman TV’s four-channel group under the Ministry of Information, alongside Sports, Oman Live and Oman Cultural. The General Channel combines national coverage with educational, religious, cultural, economic and entertainment programming.

News, learning and Omani life

The Ministry’s published schedule mixes news bulletins with locally focused features, children’s programs, regional drama, religious segments, documentaries, music and films. Examples include Oman fi Usbu’ (Oman in a Week), Qahwat al-Sabah (Morning Coffee), Ayah wa Ma’na (A Verse and a Meaning), Dunya al-Ulum (World of Science), Min Oman (From Oman) and Al-Mijhar (The Microscope). The schedule also lists Oman news bulletins and an English-language news edition.

A national public-service channel

Oman TV General serves as the broadcaster’s broad public-service channel, while separate services focus on sport, cultural output and live local events. Ministry descriptions emphasize reliable information, national development, Omani values and programming for different age groups. This mix of national news and public-interest programming defines Oman TV’s place in the country’s broadcast landscape and online television offering.
