AL-Arabi is a Kuwait Television channel included in the Ministry of Information’s official television lineup. Its programme history reflects a cultural and documentary role, with coverage of Kuwaiti heritage, Arabic literature, social questions and public affairs. Recent examples include both discussion formats and programmes built around history and storytelling.
Discussion and current-affairs programmes
In 2026, broadcaster reports identified Masahat Hiwar (Dialogue Space), presented by Ahmad Al-Rifai, as a programme examining current developments and their effects on society. Its first reported episode discussed nuclear radiation risks with a specialist from the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research. Kawalees (Behind the Scenes), presented by Fuloul Al-Failakawi, focuses on the work behind television productions and media events; it was reported as a five-day-a-week programme.
Morning and cultural conversation
Nahar al-Arabi (Al-Arabi Daytime) was described in 2024 as a daily morning cultural, social and educational programme, with guests selected around each episode’s subject. Salon al-Arabi (Al-Arabi Salon), presented by Bader Al-Failakawi, brings together two guests from the same field for conversations about culture, writing, history and related subjects.
History and storytelling
Kunooz al-Arabi (Treasures of Al-Arabi), narrated by novelist Haitham Boodai in Modern Standard Arabic, tells stories about less-remembered Arab figures and historical episodes. Rawa’i al-Qissa (Masterpieces of the Story), another programme reported in 2024, presented Kuwaiti stories, including accounts of seafarers and the origins of local place names; its run comprised 70 episodes. Taken together, these dated programme examples show AL-Arabi’s emphasis on cultural discussion, heritage and history within Kuwait Television.
