Tamil Catholic television in Puducherry

Anboli TV is a Tamil Catholic television service associated with Puducherry, India. The channel is listed in the Pondicherry archdiocesan directory, and contemporary accounts describe it as a private local station serving the city. Its purpose is religious and community-oriented: bringing Catholic worship and Tamil-language faith content to viewers who may not be able to attend every service in person. Older reports describe the channel as a local cable service rather than a nationwide broadcaster. Publicly available information about its present distribution and schedule is limited, so a current live television feed should not be assumed from historical listings alone.

Prayer, liturgy and community life

Descriptions of Anboli’s programming include Tamil Holy Mass, Rosary prayers, and the daily prayer offices of Lauds, Matins, and Vespers. The channel has also been associated with Catholic teaching, Indian Catholic liturgy, church music, documentaries, and announcements for parish events such as weddings, birthdays, and memorials. These formats connect worship with local community life and give Tamil-speaking Catholics access to prayer and religious material at home. Earlier channel information mentions broadcasts for audiences in and around Puducherry; it does not establish that every listed programme or transmission remains current. Viewers should check with the channel or local parish for up-to-date broadcast information.
