GOD TV Live Stream
GOD TV is a word-of-faith Christian media network that began in the United Kingdom and grew into one of the world's largest religious broadcasters: five regional channels, offices on four continents, and a satellite reach counted in hundreds of millions of homes. Founded in 1995 as the Continent's first daily Christian television network, it carries worship, teaching and event programming around the clock, and its channels also stream live online.
The scale is unusual for a channel that started with three hours of broadcasting a day - and reached that scale faster than almost anyone in religious television.
From Three Hours a Day to a Global Network
Rory and Wendy Alec founded the network in England in 1995 as Christian Channel Europe, which began broadcasting on 1 October of that year for three hours each morning, between four and seven a.m. The hours grew to seven in 1997 and to a full 24 in 1999; the GOD logo arrived in 1997, and by 2002 the operation had been rebranded as GOD TV. That same year the broadcast uplink moved to Israel, unlocking international expansion via satellite: launches across Africa and Asia with offices in Cape Town and Chennai, an American base in Orlando in 2003, Australia and New Zealand in 2005, DirecTV in the United States in 2006, and further expansion into Sri Lanka, China, Kenya and Melbourne through the late 2000s. By 2014 the network's potential reach was 262 million homes worldwide - 93 million of them in India alone.
Programming with a Word-of-Faith Accent
The schedule runs on the network's word-of-faith identity: worship performances, concerts and conference coverage; teaching from prominent Bible teachers of the movement; programs on social justice themes; and scripture-based series, with live event broadcasts - series like The Poverty Lie with Ashley Terradez - carrying the channel's teaching conversations to its audience in real time. The schedule comes in five regional variations - USA; UK and Europe; Africa; Asia; and Australasia - each with local programming produced through the network's regional offices, and GOD TV's original productions have won awards from the UK's Christian Broadcasting Council.
The Network Today
After Rory Alec's resignation in 2014, Wendy Alec led the network before handing the presidency to Ward Simpson, and the operation continues from its main offices in Plymouth, England and Orlando, Florida, with regional offices from India to Australia. The UK and Europe channel - the descendant of that first three-hour morning service in 1995 - streams live through the network's platform, carrying the same mix of worship, teaching and revival-event coverage that built the network, now to whatever screen the viewer holds, on five continents.
