A2i Religion Live Stream

A2i Religion is the religious channel of A2iTV Media, one of Senegal's newer private broadcasters. It broadcasts from Dakar in Wolof and French, the two languages through which most Senegalese television reaches its audience, and its programming is exclusively Islamic in content.

Quran teaching and conferences

The channel's schedule is built on instruction: recitation and reading of the Quran, lessons in the rules of worship, and the long conferences that are a fixture of Senegalese religious life, where a scholar addresses a hall of listeners for an hour or more. These conference broadcasts carry the voice of the country's teachers to families who cannot attend in person.

Faith in the Senegalese register

Islam in Senegal is shaped by its Sufi brotherhoods, and religious broadcasting there carries a distinct tone - teaching rather than polemic, with music, poetry and praise of the Prophet woven into gatherings. A2i Religion follows that register, offering devotional programming that speaks to the way religion is lived in Senegalese homes rather than to doctrinal argument.

Part of a wider media group

A2i Religion belongs to the same broadcaster as the group's general and sports channels, which share its production base in Dakar. The religious service extends that work into the country's most-followed subject, giving the group a place in the crowded field of Senegalese religious television.
