Makkah TV Live Stream

Makkah TV - Qanat Makkah in Arabic - is a Saudi religious satellite channel operating from the holy city from which it takes its name. It belongs to the Makkah TV Satellite Channel Media Company and describes its work as delivering guidance to the world and building worship and community life in accordance with God's will.

The triad of guidance

The channel organises its purpose around three subjects it calls the triad of guidance: the Quran, the Prophet Muhammad, and the Sacred House - the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca. Teaching on the Quran and the life of the Prophet provides the substance of the schedule, while the Holy Mosque gives the channel its visual and spiritual centre, with coverage of the sanctuary and of the seasons of pilgrimage.

Worship and community

Beyond scripture the channel gives attention to what it calls worship and community building - the practical side of Muslim life: prayer and the rites of the faith, family conduct, and the affairs of the community around the sanctuary. Programmes are presented in Arabic for a Saudi and wider Gulf audience, with Saudi scholars and preachers among the voices on air.

On air and online

Makkah TV broadcasts by satellite on Arabsat's Badr 8 at 26 degrees east, on the transponder at 11938 MHz with a symbol rate of 27500 and vertical polarisation, reaching homes across the Middle East and North Africa alongside its internet stream.
