SNT Paraguay Live Stream

SNT - the Sistema Nacional de Television - is a Paraguayan free-to-air television channel, the first in the country's history. It was launched on 29 September 1965 by Carlos Morinigo Delgado as Canal 9 TV Cerro Cora, after the Televisión Cerro Cora company received its concession by decree in 1963. Today the channel, with the call sign ZPV 900 TV, belongs to the Albavision group and reaches an estimated four million viewers, about 57 percent of Paraguay's population.

The First Night of Paraguayan Television

The concession was awarded in 1964 to a company presided over by Morinigo Delgado, with experimental transmissions carried out from Caacupe by Enrique Biedermann, Humberto Rubin and Camilo Perez. On the evening of 29 September 1965 the channel went on air at 19:00 with the inauguration of its own transmitter plant, narrated by Ricardo Sanabria, the channel's first announcer, followed by a documentary on the benefits of television narrated by Rodolfo Schaerer Peralta. The first studio was a corridor on the rooftop of the Social Insurance Institute building at Pettirossi and Constitucion in Asuncion, and the first voices of the channel included the 16-year-old Edith Victoria Ruiz Diaz.

The Grid Today

SNT's current schedule combines the morning magazine La Mañana de Cada Día and Arriba Py, the midday Informativo del Mediodía, the rolling Noticiero 24 horas, Pulso Urbano and Kay'uhápe, with novelas and entertainment in the evening. Sport coverage is anchored by the UEFA Champions League, with results and standings services, and the channel keeps a strong presence in Paraguayan public life through its Acción Social campaigns.
