Omroep Centraal Tv Live Stream

Omroep Centraal TV is the local broadcaster of the municipality of Gemert-Bakel, in the Dutch province of North Brabant. Run by volunteers, it produces television programmes about the community, broadcasts the council and committee meetings of the municipality live, and relays the OSR 920 radio signal on FM 91.1 as its license requires a radio service.

From Lokale Omroep Gemert to Omroep Centraal TV

The station began in 1988 as Lokale Omroep Gemert, under the on-air name Gemert Centraal, broadcasting radio only; in 1990 a cable-news ticker and television were added. When the municipalities of Gemert and Bakel & Milheeze merged on 1 January 1997, the station became Omroep Centraal Gemert-Bakel. In February 2022 the broadcaster was sold behind the staff's backs to the local broadcaster of neighbouring Laarbeek; the volunteers unanimously refused to go along, founded a new association - Omroep Centraal TV - and, having lost the broadcasting license, continued on social media, where their reach grew sharply. In March 2023 the council of Gemert-Bakel advised the NLPO to restore the license, and since 1 August 2023 the station has been back on television: KPN channel 1304, Caiway and Delta Fiber channel 12, Odido channel 879 and Ziggo channel 48.

Programmes of the Village

Between the cable-ticker items, at fixed start times through the day, the channel shows new and archive films about Gemert-Bakel: Gimmerse verhaolen with local stories in dialect, Mysteries van Ghemert, Geen Wonder Wel Bijzonder, Hobbies achter de voordeur and the archive series Uit den Ouden Doosch. The municipal council meetings (raadsvergaderingen) and committee meetings go out live, keeping the station close to the political life of the community it has served since 1988.
