Telesud was a local television broadcaster based in Trapani and serving western Sicily. The station’s official history says it was registered at the Trapani court in 1987; its reporting covered local news, public affairs, culture and sport. Over several decades, Telesud became a familiar source of regional television coverage. Its online television history is also reflected in the programme titles and schedule the broadcaster published before its operations were disrupted in 2026.

News, sport and local productions

The station’s October 2025 schedule listed TG Sud (Southern News), Mattino Sud (Southern Morning) and Salus (Health), alongside sports and discussion programmes. It named Hat Trick with Mirko Ditta and Francesco Torrente, Res Publica (Public Affairs) with Nicola Baldarotta, T-Sport and Time Out with Mirko Ditta. The schedule also featured Sicilia sotto la lente (Sicily Under the Lens), a title focused on the region. Together, these programmes covered news, health, sport, politics and local affairs.

Reports of closure in 2026

In January 2026, local news reports said the owner, Valerio Antonini, had put the company into liquidation and that staff returning to the newsroom found it without electricity. Later reporting described Telesud as closed, after more than three decades of regional broadcasting, and noted the eviction from its historic Via Isolella premises in May. The station’s dated programme schedule and its long-running local coverage remain part of Trapani’s television history.
