Telekanal Sankt-Peterburg (Russian: Телеканал «Санкт-Петербург») is the city television channel of St. Petersburg, Russia. Owned by the city through the City Agency for Television and Radio Broadcasting and based at Chapygina Street 6, it has been on air since 10 October 2010 - around the clock since 2014 - and serves St. Petersburg together with the Leningrad region.

History and Role

The channel took the place of the former TKT-TV in cable and satellite networks and works as a network partner of the national Public Television of Russia (OTR). Its editorial focus is the city itself: municipal news, the work of the city government, urban life and the cultural agenda of St. Petersburg. Ekaterina Khodarinova serves as general director.

Programming

Information is the backbone of the grid: Novosti and its evening edition Novosti. Itogi Dnya cover the city's news, Utro v Peterburge is the morning channel, and Petersburgsky Dnevnik sums up city events. Current affairs include the talk shows Ulica Pravdy, Partbyuro and Puls Goroda, while Peterburg - Gorod Resheniy broadcasts live with city officials and Pryamaya Liniya Pravitelstva connects viewers monthly with the governor and the city government. Thematic strands range from economy (Vektor Uspekha) and sport (Novosti Sporta, Takoy Futbol) to culture (Kulturnaya Evolyutsiya, the Hermitage co-production Ermitazh. Govorim i Pokazyvaem), health (Glavny Vrach, presented with the chief physician of the Botkin hospital), cinema (Okno v Kino) and the nature of the region (Dikie Vyhodnye s Pavlom Glazkovym).
