UniNettuno University TV Live Stream

UniNettuno University TV is the free satellite television channel of the Università Telematica Internazionale UniNettuno (UTIU), the Italian international telematic university. Broadcasting under the slogan "La TV della conoscenza" (The TV of Knowledge), it airs video lectures by Italian, European and Arab-world university professors in four languages: Italian, English, French and Arabic.

From RaiSat Nettuno to the University Channel

The channel was launched on 10 November 1997 as RaiSat Nettuno, born of a consortium of thirty Italian universities together with IRI, Confindustria, Telecom Italia and Rai, to deliver distance university courses. Managed by Rai until 2014, it was renamed RaiSat Nettuno Lezioni Universitarie in 1999 and Rai Nettuno Sat Uno in 2003, when a twin channel Rai Nettuno Sat Due was launched (it closed on 1 February 2009). In 2005 management passed to UTIU, and in April 2014 the channel dropped the Rai name to become UniNettuno University TV, produced solely by the university.

Distribution

The channel is received free-to-air across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, on channel 812 of Sky Italia and channel 701 of tivùsat, as well as online on the university's portal uninettuno.tv.

Lectures and Cultural Series

The grid combines degree-course video lectures with cultural series, such as the special lessons by the physicist Piergiorgio Picozza on cosmic rays, the interview cycle Era la Rai by Gianni Bisiach on the origins of public broadcasting, and Stati Generali della Memoria with Furio Colombo and Vittorio Pavoncello.
