Hala TV Live Stream

Hala TV (Arabic: قناة هلا) is an Israeli commercial television channel broadcasting in Arabic. Based in Jerusalem and launched on 12 March 2012, it serves the Arab citizens of Israel - the country's Arabic-speaking minority - with a general-interest schedule carried by satellite and by the cable platform HOT and the satellite platform yes.

A Long Road to the Screen

The idea of a dedicated commercial Arabic-language channel in Israel dates back to 1995, when Communications Minister Shulamit Aloni proposed dedicated advertising-funded channels. Two tenders of the Cable and Satellite Council failed before a third, won by the Hala TV group, finally brought the channel to air in March 2012. The station belongs to the Panorama Group.

Programmes

The schedule combines news with talk and magazine formats. El Mouja El Maftouha (The Open Wave) is the channel's phone-in platform, Kalam Fi El Samim addresses public issues directly, and the interview format Bassam Jaber Yuhawir brings public figures into the studio, while Men Ha'ak En Ta'aref (You Have the Right to Know) examines civic and consumer affairs. Health and lifestyle appear in Kulu Sihha and Hadha El Yawm, the Friday Magazine covers religion and culture, Mabsutin Ma'a Hala is the entertainment show and Hala Riada reports on sport.

An Arabic Voice from Israel

The channel addresses the Arab population of Israel and Arabic speakers beyond the country's borders, following events of interest to the Arab community through its newsroom, video portal and live service.
