ZTV (Zalaegerszegi Televízió) is the local television channel of Zalaegerszeg, the seat of Zala county in western Hungary. Founded in 1985, the station was created and is fully owned by the City of Zalaegerszeg; it has operated as a commercial company since 1992, while the city continues to support it with an annual sum in the budget. On 22 January 1997 the channel's own productions were carried beyond the city limits for the first time, and today ZTV broadcasts around the clock, seven days a week.
ZTV Programs
News is the backbone of the schedule: Híradó, the channel's newscast, airs in fresh editions twice a day with reports from Zalaegerszeg and the reception area.
The local magazine Egerszegi Esték covers the life of the city, Aréna is devoted to sport, KultúrKör to culture and Zöldövezet to environmental topics.
Forgószínpad presents theatre and stage arts, children have the tale corner Mesesarok, and ZTV Retró - Haboskávé looks back at the station's own history and the city's past.
Live from the City Occasions
Live broadcasting plays a prominent role at ZTV: the channel regularly transmits sporting events, concerts and other important city occasions, allowing residents to follow them as they happen. Its programme mix - news, reports on public and cultural events, interviews, sport, entertainment and documentaries - is built to serve the population of Zalaegerszeg and the surrounding area across all age groups. ZTV streams live through zegtv.hu.
