Gyöngyösi TV Live Stream
Gyöngyösi TV is the municipal television channel of Gyöngyös, a city in Heves County at the foot of the Mátra Mountains in northern Hungary. Broadcasting since 20 November 1994 and operated by the nonprofit Gyöngyösi Médiaközpont, it was created by the city to keep local government accountable and to present the cultural life of the Gyöngyös area. The channel's live stream and news output remain focused on the city and its surrounding settlements.
A Municipal Mandate
In 1993 the Municipal Assembly of Gyöngyös decided to establish a city television station whose task would be to support the municipality's duty to inform the public, widen the forums of local democracy and showcase the cultural values of the city and its catchment area. With the studio license and frequency granted to it, Gyöngyösi VTV began broadcasting on 20 November 1994 with a two-hour daily slot between 17:00 and 19:00. In 1998 the newsroom won a 24-hour frequency on UHF channel 27, and on 1 June 2002 the station joined Hálózatos Televíziók Rt, the network formed by Hungary's local television stations.
Aktuális and the Newsroom
The station's news program Aktuális has existed since the channel's first year on air. Broadcast initially every two days, it has appeared five days a week since 1999, with fresh editions every weekday at 18:00. Alongside daily economic, religious and sports events, the newscast covers issues affecting the region's residents and reports on the civil sphere and local political life, with regular room for culture, the arts, education and student life. The weekend edition Tallózó revisits the most important stories of the week.
Magazines and Community Programs
The weekly cultural roundup Nézőtér surveys the arts scene of the Gyöngyös area. Nápolyi is a live, interactive Saturday evening magazine hosted by Tufescu Csenge and Nagy Zoltán, built around topics and guests of interest to the region's residents. Sports coverage has its own weekly magazine, Sport7, while Hit világa (World of Faith) addresses religious life and the monthly Őrjárat (Patrol) follows crime and public safety. Over the years the schedule has also included the motoring magazine Mozgásban, the cultural and touristic Mátra Magazin named after the nearby mountain range, and Amaro Drom (Our Way), a program devoted to the Roma minority community.
