Al-Jawadain TV Live Stream

Al-Jawadain TV - قناة الجوادين - is the television channel of the al-Kadhimiya shrine in Baghdad, the sanctuary of the two Imams, Musa al-Kadhim and Muhammad al-Jawad, from whom the shrine and the channel take their name.

The shrine on screen

The channel carries the life of the shrine as it happens: the five daily prayers and the congregational services, the recitations and majalis held in the sanctuary, the sermons of its preachers, and the great occasions of the Shia calendar - the births and martyrdoms of the Imams, the nights of Ramadan and the pilgrimage seasons. For the shrine's many visitors and for those who cannot travel, it is the closest thing to being present in the courtyard.

Teaching from the shrine

Beyond the services the channel broadcasts teaching attached to the shrine's religious authority - lessons in doctrine and jurisprudence, question-and-answer sessions, and programmes on the history of the sanctuary and of the Imams buried there. The shrine runs its own media office, and the channel is part of that work rather than an independent broadcaster.

Watching

Al-Jawadain TV broadcasts in standard definition by satellite and streams from its own server at live.aljawadain.org, with a live section on the shrine's site. Its programmes are also published on its video channels.
