Village TV Live Stream

Village TV is a Tamil-language devotional channel broadcasting from India. It is operated by Softline Creations Pvt. Ltd. and carries the religious life of Tamil Nadu's temples and villages.

What the channel carries

The output follows the devotional practice of Tamil Hinduism: aarti sung at the temple, spiritual discourses by teachers and scholars, bhajan and devotional song, and coverage of local religious events - the temple festivals, processions and observances that structure the year in the villages of the region. Its register is local rather than national: the temples and festivals it covers are the ones its audience knows by name.

A regional strand of Indian broadcasting

India's devotional television is largely organised by language and region, with channels devoted to the practice of a particular state or community. Tamil devotional broadcasting has its own performers and its own calendar, and a channel working in that idiom serves an audience that wants its own temples and its own singers rather than a national service.

Watching

Village TV broadcasts in standard definition and streams in high definition from its own server at live.villagetv.net. Its programming is aimed at Tamil-speaking viewers in India and in the diaspora.
