Rioni is a TV-radio company operating in Kutaisi, the legal successor of the first Georgian commercial television (founded in 1986). was founded by journalist Badri Kapetivadze. On May 7, 1989, under his leadership, the first cable television was opened in Kutaisi, designed for 5000 subscribers. On June 28, 1991, the TV company "Rioni" was broadcast live on the 7th meter channel. On May 18, 1995, LLC TV-Radio Society "Rioni" was registered, the post of president of which was held by Badri Kapetivadze until the end of his life.
