Sankara TV Live Stream

Sri Sankara TV - known simply as Sankara TV - is a South Indian devotional broadcaster working from Chennai in Kannada and Tamil. Its calendar is built around the Bhakthi Utsavam, the devotional festival it stages each year.

What the channel carries

The schedule follows the devotional traditions of the south: temple programmes and the observances of the festival year, discourses by teachers on Vedanta and on the lives of the saints, bhajans and Carnatic devotional music, and coverage of the gatherings the channel organises. The Bhakthi Utsavam, held at Chennai's Vani Mahal with singers and scholars from across the south, is broadcast in full each season.

Named for the teacher

The channel takes its name from Adi Shankara, the eighth-century philosopher who established the monastic centres of the south and whose teaching of Advaita Vedanta underlies much of the region's religious thought. That inheritance shapes the channel's content: the explanation of scripture and doctrine has as much place as the singing.

Watching

Sri Sankara TV broadcasts in standard definition on South Indian cable and satellite platforms and streams through the Tango TV infrastructure, with its festival schedule and booking pages on its site. Its programmes are also published on its video channel and on its separate Kannada and Telugu services.
