NASA TV's Media Channel Live Stream

NASA TV’s Media Channel was part of NASA’s television distribution service, but its satellite programming has ended. NASA states that it no longer broadcasts programming via satellite and directs viewers to NASA+, its free streaming service for live mission coverage, documentaries, and series. That change matters for anyone looking for NASA TV online television today: the historic channel name remains familiar, while NASA+ is the current official destination for NASA video.

From satellite channel to NASA+

NASA’s notice about the transition identifies NASA+ as the place to find live and original programming after NASA TV was phased out. The agency describes NASA+ as free and ad-free, with no subscription required. Its viewing options include live mission coverage and on-demand productions. NASA also says the NASA App provides access to NASA+ alongside images, mission updates, and podcasts; the app is available for iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku.

Science and space series

The NASA+ catalogue groups video by topics such as humans in space, Earth, the Solar System, the universe, aeronautics, technology, documentaries, and history. Named series currently listed include Moonbound, Far Out, Our Alien Earth, Other Worlds, Space Out, NASA Explorers, Artemis I: Path to the Pad, and JPL and The Space Age. These titles reflect the range of NASA’s video output, from mission and science stories to educational programming.

Live coverage and viewing options

NASA+ lists scheduled events as well as released episodes, so its live stream schedule can include mission events while other programs remain available on demand. NASA’s viewing information also points to its social channels and selected third-party streaming services; access conditions can differ on those services. For current NASA programming, check NASA+ and NASA’s official ways-to-watch information. The former Media Channel is a historical reference, while NASA+ carries the agency’s present online television service.
