4E Live Stream

4E is a Greek Orthodox television station based in Ampelokipoi, Thessaloniki, broadcasting terrestrially across Central Macedonia. Its name comes from the initials of Elliniki Orthodoxos Ekklisiastiki Enimerotiki Ekpompi, the Greek Orthodox ecclesiastical information broadcast that also appears in the company's full title.

The station was founded on 16 December 1993 and began operating early in 1994. The Archimandrite Theofilos Zisopoulos was the driving force behind its creation, and the channel obtained a regional television licence in 1998.

Liturgy and Theology

Latreia covers church services, including live transmission of the Divine Liturgy on Sundays. Theologikes presents programmes on Orthodox faith and doctrine, with clergy and lay teachers explaining the tradition for a general audience.

Services from Thessaloniki churches are carried through the year, and the channel follows the liturgical calendar closely, giving major feasts longer coverage.

Culture, Education and Family

Programmes are grouped by subject. Politismos deals with Greek culture, Enhmerosi carries information and current affairs, Ekpaideusi presents educational series, and Paidi is the children's strand.

Oikogenia addresses family life and raising children within the Orthodox faith, while Psigagogia provides family entertainment. The mix is intended to make the channel a general service for households rather than a purely liturgical station.

Satellite and Digital Reach

In 2007 the station was licensed to provide free satellite services and began distributing its signal through Hellas Sat 2 for Europe, Apstar 2R for Asia and Optus B3 for Australia via the UBI World TV platform. It also broadcast for several months in 2012 across the United States, Canada and Central America via SES-1.

4E moved to digital transmission from the Chortiatis and Filippio centres on UHF 50 in October 2008. The station operates from Eleftherias 15 in Ampelokipoi and streams its programme online.
