Iqra Bangla Live Stream

Iqra Bangla is the Bengali-language channel of IQRA TV, the British Muslim broadcaster run by the Al-Khair Foundation. IQRA launched in 2009 as the UK's first community television service and now describes itself as Europe's most popular direct-to-viewer Muslim channel, with more than a million viewers on the Sky platform.

Teaching in Bengali

Programming is presented in Bengali for viewers in Britain and for Bengali-speaking audiences elsewhere. Darse Hadith works through collections of hadith in a class format, while Qur'an lessons cover recitation and the rules of reading the text.

Deener Markaz presents talks from scholars on belief and practice, and the channel marks the religious calendar with special programmes, including features on the significance of Rabi al-Awwal.

Community and Charity

As part of IQRA TV, the channel carries the foundation's appeals and reporting on its relief work, from food distribution to support for orphans. Announcements about donations and volunteering appear between programmes.

Community items cover events in British Bengali neighbourhoods, education and family matters, and the work of local mosques and organisations.

Where to Watch

Iqra Bangla is carried on Sky and distributes a live feed through the IQRA TV website, where the Bengali service sits alongside the main channel.
