Canal TVU Live Stream

Canal TVU is the television channel of the Universidad de Concepción - the university station of Chile's Biobío Region, broadcasting news, culture, science and university life from Concepción. Part of the university's Medios UdeC media group, it runs a full regional schedule rather than a campus bulletin, and its signal also streams live online.

Few university channels operate as a genuine regional broadcaster. TVU does: a daily news operation with midday and evening editions, a morning show, science programming produced inside the university's own research culture, and coverage of a city that has long considered itself the cultural capital of Chile's south.

TVU Noticias and Siempre Juntos

The schedule is anchored by TVU Noticias, the news brand that runs in a 2 PM midday edition and the evening Central, covering Concepción, Tomé, the Biobío coast and the region's politics, public works and economy - the local stories the national networks reach only when they turn national. Siempre Juntos is the morning program that sets the day's agenda, while MultiVersos takes viewers inside the university's science, from the flowering of a Puya on campus to the research carried out in its laboratories. Nuestra Pauta carries the cultural agenda, and a second signal, Señal 2, runs parallel live coverage when the day demands two feeds at once.

Medios UdeC

TVU is one piece of a media house that is unusual in Chilean higher education: the Universidad de Concepción's Medios UdeC group also operates Radio UdeC, the Diario Concepción newspaper, Noticias UdeC and La Discusión, the historic paper of nearby Chillán. Reporters, editors and producers move between the radio studio, the newsroom and the television set, which is why a story like a water-quality problem in Tomé or a stalled public works project in Plaza Perú is covered on air, in print and online by the same organization.

The University's Screen

The Universidad de Concepción, founded in 1919 by the citizens of the city rather than by the state, has always treated its region as its constituency, and the channel carries that tradition onto television: university life, extension and research alongside the regional news, culture and politics of the Biobío. The live stream - carried in high definition on the channel's own site and through its video platforms - extends that coverage beyond the region, to Concepción's diaspora and to anyone following the south of Chile. For a city built around a campus, TVU is the screen where the university and the region meet.
