Free Speech TV Live Stream
Free Speech TV, known as FSTV, is an American progressive news and opinion network launched in 1995. It is owned and operated by Public Communicators Incorporated, a non-profit founded in 1974, and it has run without commercial interruption since its launch, supported by viewers and foundations.
Origins
The network grew out of three projects that sought wider distribution for progressive perspectives on television: The 90's, a series carried on public television and cable; The 90's Channel, a group of seven full-time cable channels devoted to independent media; and the part-time Free Speech TV programme service, launched in 1995 to curate independent work for community access stations.
Public television stations carried some of its special series, among them Just Solutions: Campaigning for Human Rights.
Programming
The schedule combines daily news and analysis with documentaries and studio discussion. Democracy Now! is the best-known of the news programmes it carries, and the line-up includes political talk, social and economic reporting, environmental coverage and films on civil rights and labour.
The network states its purpose as amplifying underrepresented voices and the people working on the front lines of social, economic and environmental justice. Programming is presented from a progressive standpoint and is offered without advertising.
Access
Free Speech TV is distributed principally by Dish Network and DirecTV and streams through freespeech.org and on Roku. Its live feed is delivered over the internet in high definition with English closed captions, so the channel can be followed on phones, computers and connected televisions.
