BEK News Live Stream
BEK News is the local news service of BEK TV, the television operation of BEK Communications Cooperative in North Dakota. The channel broadcasts statewide and covers the issues people in the state's rural counties and the Bismarck-Mandan area discuss, alongside sport and entertainment.
The Cooperative Behind It
BEK Communications Cooperative was founded in 1952 by friends and neighbours in Burleigh, Emmons and Kidder counties, a history reflected in its name. Its headquarters have always been and remain in Steele, and the original territory has grown to serve nearly 11,000 customers across a wide stretch of south-central North Dakota, including parts of Morton, Oliver, McLean, Logan, McIntosh, Barnes, Griggs and other counties.
The cooperative provides telephone, gigabit broadband and television service over a fibre network, together with cloud security, automation, surveillance and business communications, and it also serves Valley City and rural areas next to Bismarck and Mandan. Its customers are its owners, and member-owners elect a nine-person board.
BEK News and BEK Sports
BEK News produces original news and opinion programming, with coverage of state and local government, agriculture, community affairs and the weather that shapes life on the northern plains. Sport has a strong place in the schedule: BEK Sports carries high school and college events across the state, and the channel has added its own series, including a bowling competition with professional players.
Distribution
BEK TV broadcasts over the air and through local providers, and it streams through its own website and the BEK TV+ application, which offers live and on-demand access to BEK News, BEK Sports and other programming on subscription.
