Top News online - Television live
Top News Live Stream
Top News, ท็อปนิวส์ in Thai, is a broadcast television news channel owned by Top News Digital Media Co., Ltd., a company led by Sonthiyan Chuenruthainaitham. It was established in December 2020 by former staff and journalists of Nation TV, who had left that network over a change of management and editorial direction.
From Top TV to Top News
The company was founded as Top TV in December 2020 and took its present name in 2021. It negotiated with several digital terrestrial operators without success at first, and instead launched as a satellite station in mid-January 2021, beginning broadcasts on 1 February 2021 through a signal leased from the TVD10 channel.
On the PSI set-top box it appeared on channel 77, alongside parallel streams on social media, and the channel was later moved to channel 210.
Digital Terrestrial
Top News began digital terrestrial broadcasting on 18 September 2023 on JKN18, under a partnership with JKN Global Group signed on 11 September that year. The two ran a parallel broadcast from 18 to 30 September, after which Top News ceased its own cable and satellite transmissions and became a channel carried on JKN18.
Bulletins and protest coverage
The schedule follows the pattern of Thai rolling news: bulletins through the day, studio discussion of politics and public affairs, interviews with officials and campaigners, and live coverage of protests and parliamentary sessions. The newsroom's origins in Nation TV's editorial culture shape its approach to political reporting.
Distribution
Top News broadcasts on digital terrestrial television through JKN18 and streams continuously over the internet, where its live feed carries the channel in high definition for viewers on phones and computers.
