TV channels Cape Verde
Television in Cape Verde belongs to a single public institution. With a population spread over ten islands in the Atlantic, national broadcasting here has always been as much about tying the archipelago together as about entertainment.
RTC: The Public Broadcaster
RTC - Radiotelevisão Caboverdiana - is the country's publicly owned radio and television company and its first broadcaster, headquartered in Praia on the island of Santiago, with offices on São Vicente, Sal and Fogo. Its television service carries national news, public affairs and home-grown productions, following daily life from Santiago to Santo Antão.
A Lusophone Window
Beyond its own output, RTC has long connected Cape Verdean screens to the wider Portuguese-speaking world, carrying programs from Portugal and Brazil alongside local production. For a small island state, the public channel remains the shared national living room.
