CTV3 News is a local television news channel serving Northern Belize, which has grown into a trusted household name for the region's viewers....

Television in Belize is a compact, English-language world where news sets the tone. The stations of this small Caribbean nation on the Central American mainland carry its public life: politics from Belmopan, the courts and commerce of Belize City, and storm tracking when the hurricane season moves toward the coast.

A National Newsroom from Belize City

Channel 5 is the on-air name of Greater Belize Media, the company long known as Great Belize Television. It began broadcasting on 9 December 1991 with News 5 Live, the first locally produced independent national newscast in the country, and the evening News 5 bulletin has remained a national appointment ever since. Mornings belong to Open Your Eyes, the breakfast programme of interviews, phone-ins and community announcements. When a hurricane threatens the coast, the channel clears its schedule for continuous storm coverage - a public-service role that has defined it for decades.

The Voice of Northern Belize

CTV3 News is the news service of Centaur Cable Network's Channel 3, broadcasting from Orange Walk Town since 1989. Its weeknight newscast covers the northern districts of Orange Walk and Corozal, and the Belize City stations themselves turn to it for news from the region. Together with its sister radio station Fiesta FM, it keeps the north inside the national conversation.

Between the city newsroom and the northern studio, Belizean television covers the country's day from breakfast to the evening bulletin, in the language most Belizeans speak at home.
