2-ya Sadovaya (2nd Sadovaya) is an internet channel operated by GTRK Saratov, the Saratov branch of Russia’s state television and radio company VGTRK. The broadcaster lists it alongside its Russia 1 and Russia 24 services and regional radio stations. Its online format carries video from the regional broadcaster; the official description does not establish a separate, continuous 24-hour schedule, so programme examples should be read in their published context.

Regional stories and archive

The channel is associated with Saratov-made programming and material from the region’s television archive. One notable example is Ne za tridevyat zemel (Beyond the Far Far Away), a long-running local-history programme created and presented by Saratov historian Dmitry Khudyakov. GTRK Saratov reported that it covered local history, archaeology, palaeontology and historical geography; 1,697 programmes had been made by the time of Khudyakov’s death in 2020. This is an archive reference, not a claim that new episodes are currently being produced.

Video versions of radio programmes

GTRK also used 2-ya Sadovaya for video broadcasts connected with its regional radio service. In November 2023, the broadcaster announced a video transmission of Zhensovet 64 (Women’s Council 64), a family-oriented discussion series on children, education and relationships, alongside Radio Russia Saratov. The example shows how the internet channel can extend local radio conversations to viewers. Availability and the current selection of videos depend on the broadcaster’s online publications.
