Pervyy Krymskiy (Первый Крымский) is the flagship channel of the TV and Radio Company "Crimea", the republican broadcaster of the Crimean peninsula. The company's television began with a test broadcast on 25 January 1959, and regular broadcasting across the peninsula, including Sevastopol, started on 5 May 1959 - making it one of the oldest regional TV services on the territory.

From the Crimean Committee to Pervyy Krymskiy

Created in 1959 as the State Television and Radio Company "Crimea", the broadcaster was known until 1992 as the Crimean Committee of Television and Radio Broadcasting. Between May and August 2014 it was re-registered from the Ukrainian state structure into the autonomous non-profit organization "Teleradiokompaniya Krym", and its flagship channel Krym was rebranded as Pervyy Krymskiy. At the same time the company launched the news channel Krym 24 and the radio stations Krym Tochka and More.

A Network for the Peninsula

The company's structure includes the republican channels Pervyy Krymskiy and Krym 24, the Krym 24 news portal and a family of city channels - Yevpatoriya 24, Kerch 24, Yalta 24, Vostochnyy Krym 24, Severnyy Krym 24 and Legendarnyy 24. Pervyy Krymskiy carries the peninsula's news, talk shows and coverage of regional events, in Russian, from its Simferopol studios.
