DeporTV is an Argentine open television channel specialized in sports programming. It is owned by the Argentine Government, through the Ministry of Media and Public Communication, and is operated by Contenidos Públicos S.E.
It was inaugurated by then-president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and began its test broadcasts on April 13, 2012. It was created to promote Argentine sports as a promoter of society's values. It broadcasts together with Public Television the professional competitions of the First Division Women's Soccer Championship and the CONMEBOL Qualifiers, as well as programs referring to other sports such as field hockey, basketball, tennis, volleyball, handball, rugby, among others, and events such as the Evita National Games.
