RTQ - Canal 10 is the public television channel of the state of Querétaro, Mexico, operated by the state broadcaster Radio y Televisión Querétaro (RTQ). The service began television transmission on digital channel 50 on 22 September 2013 and has used the virtual channel 10.1 since October 2016.

From Radio Querétaro to RTQ

The broadcaster traces its roots to Radio Querétaro, inaugurated on 4 February 1988 as part of the state's Sistema Estatal de Comunicación Cultural y Educativa. The AM station XEQUE 1150 ran until 2005, when the service moved to FM on 100.3 MHz with 24-hour broadcasting; the television channel followed in 2013. In 2017 the Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones formalised the state's public-service concessions, with the callsigns XHQUE-FM for radio and XHSECE-TDT for television.

Programming

Canal 10's grid mixes news with cultural and community formats. The channel's daily news service is presented by Mariana Perusquía, while the schedule includes the cultural magazine Cultura 21, Escapadas Queretanas on tourism in the state, the gastronomy programme Los Catadores, the public-affairs conversation La Palabra en Punto, Justicia en Evolución on the justice system, the interview formats Conversaciones and Entrevista Desde Cero, and music programming such as El Canto de la Jarana and RPM.

Public Service

As the state's public broadcaster, RTQ's mission is the promotion and preservation of cultural, civic and social values, with programming produced and broadcast in the public interest. Its signal is carried over the air and on the Cablecom and Megacable lineups, alongside the FM station on 100.3 and the network's online services.
