TV Besa is the television arm of RTV Besa, a local broadcaster based in Prizren, Kosovo. The organization began as a radio station in 2002 and expanded into television in 2004. Its terrestrial licence covers the Prizren region, and the station’s online television profile is associated with local reporting and programmes for the area’s diverse communities.

Prizren’s regional broadcaster

RTV Besa serves audiences in and around Prizren, a city with Albanian, Bosnian and Turkish communities. The station has worked to make local news and public-affairs programming accessible to minority-language audiences. In a media-development project, its team produced television and social-media programmes for Turkish- and Bosnian-speaking communities, with attention to issues affecting residents who can be underrepresented in larger national coverage.

Community topics and multilingual journalism

The documented programme themes included politics, culture, art, sport, civil society and business, with particular attention to women and young people and efforts to address misinformation. This work connected journalism with community participation and local decision-making. RTV Besa’s regional role is grounded in reporting from Prizren and in giving different language groups ways to engage with public issues.

Local media context

Kosovo’s Independent Media Commission lists TV Besa among local and regional terrestrial broadcasters. Its Prizren focus distinguishes it from national television services and keeps the channel’s identity tied to local news, cultural life and community affairs. Together, its radio and television history and multilingual programming make RTV Besa a notable part of the region’s broadcast and online television landscape.
