NPO 2 (Nederland 2 or TV2) is one of the three television channels of the Dutch Public Broadcasting Corporation. The channel was founded in October 1964 and from the late 1980s it would profile itself as a channel with mostly sports, entertainment and major events. Those components are housed on NPO 1. NPO 2 presents itself as the "in-depth" channel, for the "interested viewer. Art, culture, politics, society and religion are fixed factors for NPO 2. The station achieved a 7.1% market share in 2008, making it the fifth largest station in the Netherlands in viewership. Net coordinator since October 1, 2012 is Gijs van Beuzekom.

NPO 2 is the home network of programs with an in-depth basis. Many of the programs of NTR, VPRO, KRO-NCRV, EO and HUMAN can be followed via this net.
