Primantenna is a regional broadcaster serving Piedmont and Liguria, on digital terrestrial channel 14 in Piedmont and 79 in Liguria. Its origins trace to Studio Televisivo Padano (STP), founded in Casale Monferrato in 1976.

From STP to Primantenna

Cesare Carando and Domenico Figoli founded STP in March 1976, and regular broadcasts began in January 1977. In the early 1980s, Carando united local stations under the Primantenna brand. In 2002, Francesco Digiorgio acquired the broadcaster and formed Gruppo Primantenna.

Programmes rooted in Piedmont

Recent output has increasingly focused on programmes filmed in the region. The broadcaster names Mosaico (Mosaic), Musica in piazza (Music in the Square), Tra borghi e sapori (Through Villages and Flavours) and A spasso per il Piemonte (Around Piedmont) among these local productions.

Music and entertainment

Primantenna also lists Ma che musica (What Music), L’appetito vien cantando (Appetite Comes with Singing), Melodia italiana (Italian Melody) and Una canzone per te (A Song for You). In 2026, the channel covered the Italian Song Festival in Sanremo from an on-site studio with its own production direction.

Regional identity

Local reporting, popular entertainment, folklore and music remain part of the broadcaster’s stated focus. Primantenna’s current digital terrestrial listings are channel 14 in Piedmont and 79 in Liguria.
