Fonte TV is a Brazilian television station headquartered in Goiania, the capital of Goias state, broadcasting on channel 5 (47 UHF digital). It belongs to the Sistema Fonte de Comunicacao, maintained by the Fundacao Ministerio Comunidade Crista, and its signal covers the Goiania metropolitan area over the air and on pay TV, all of Brazil by satellite, and the internet. Its content mixes Christian programming with journalism, sport and culture.

From RCC TV to Fonte TV

The station first went on air on Christmas Day, 25 December 2005, as RCC TV, with a programme grid guided by Christian principles; between January and May 2006 it acted as a relayer of STV (today SescTV). It took its current name on 25 July 2006. The concession had been contested since the late 1990s by the Federal University of Goias, but was granted in 2002 to the Igreja Apostolica Fonte da Vida during the government of Fernando Henrique Cardoso; a Senate attempt to revoke it did not advance.

Programming

The schedule combines faith programmes - Momento de Fe, Palavra de Vida, Fe e Oracao, Manancial de Vida, Profetizando Vidas - with the Fonte Noticias news block, Placar Esportivo and Fonte Esporte for sport, Viola na Fonte and the Gospel Show for music, Hora da Saude for health, Cine Fonte for films and the music chart TOP 10 - Musical.
