Nile News is the Egyptian state broadcaster's news channel - the ERTU network carrying national and international news to Arabic-speaking audiences from Cairo.

A State Newsroom in Cairo

Operated by the Egyptian Radio and Television Union, the country's public broadcaster, Nile News forms part of the state's family of thematic channels distributed by satellite across Egypt and the wider Arab world. The channel went on air in 2009 as part of ERTU's expansion of thematic services, complementing the flagship Nile TV International with a dedicated rolling-news service.

News and Current Affairs

Programming is built around rolling news bulletins with updates every half hour, covering Egyptian politics, economy, sports and regional developments. The channel carries live coverage of official events, press conferences and parliamentary proceedings, with correspondents reporting from Cairo and the governorates.

Programs

The schedule features Nile News Bulletins throughout the day, the morning review Sabah El Kheir with headlines and analysis, and evening discussion programmes examining the day's events. Current-affairs formats include interviews with officials and experts on national policy, alongside documentary features on Egyptian history and institutions.
